Andrew Reynolds

words//abigail portner

Andrew Reynolds is from Lakeland, Florida and now lives in Hollywood, California. Andrew is a rad, creative human being and is one of the most influential street skaters of all time. He owns Baker Skateboards and Brigada Eyewear, and is the Creative Director of Altamont Apparel. Besides being a sick skater, Andrew has a beautiful daughter named Stella and plays guitar in the skate rock band “The Goat”. I met Andrew when asked to write out “AC” text that he and a bro got tattooed on their arms. Since I met Andrew, he has sent me some of the funniest and most amazing photos, YouTube videos, and music I have ever received. Because of that I asked him to answer these questions.

Who are you?

Where did you come from?

Where are you now?

What makes you happy?

What makes you sad?

What do you find most beautiful?

What are you working on now?

Where will you end?

To check out more from Andrew go take a look at the websites of BakerBoys Distribution, Emerica Footwear, Altamont Apparel, Brigada Eyewear, and Baker Skateboards. Andrew’s got a full part coming up in Emerica’s highly anticipated video, Stay Gold. Stay tuned for good things.

Fred Mortagne

words//abigail portner

Fred Mortagne is from Lyon, France. He is a Filmer, Director, Photographer, and one of the most creative people I know. He works for the French skate company Cliché and has been making beautiful new commercials for them. Whenever I get an email from Fred it always includes an amazing photo he has taken, a story of a place he has been, or a link to someone’s art to check out. Fred is always busy and always seems like he is thinking about what to make next; because of this, he was a perfect person to answer these questions.

Who are you?

Where did you come from?

Where are you now?

What makes you happy?

What makes you cry?

What do you find most beautiful?

What are you working on now?

Where will you end?

Fred Mortagne, most to known as “French Fred,” is the driving force behind Flip’s classic video Sorry, amongst many others. His website is currently under construction, but you can check out his interim blog at the same address for all of his latest happenings.

Greg Hunt

words//abigail portner

Greg Hunt is a filmmaker, photographer, skateboarder, and an inspiring human being. I haven’t known Greg very long, but since I met him he has always been on the move and never not working. Greg is responsible for the creation of the last Alien Workshop film Mind Field and The DC Video. Greg also takes beautiful photos, that he has a closet full of, documenting years of life and skating. I asked Greg to answer these questions for me and he answered them with film stills from his past and present work.

Who are you?

Where did you come from?

Where are you now?

What makes you happy?

What makes you cry?

What do you find most beautiful?

What are you working on now?

Where will you end?

words//abigail portner

I met Javier this past winter while he was on a skate trip in Los Angeles. He is from the Basque Country in Spain and now resides in Barcelona. Javier skates for Cliché and Gravis, but, most importantly, he takes rad photos. I asked Javi some questions and this is what he shared…

Who are you?

Where did you come from?

Where are you now?

What makes you happy?

What makes you cry?

What do you find most beautiful?

Where will you end?

"When you make things as an artist, you end up looking at things all the time. You share your images with others and vice versa. I love getting emails from friends from all over with updates and attachments of what they are working on, or stuff that they like. This is what this column is about in some form, but sharing those images with the public. These are artists, friends, family, and acquaintances, whose art I love. These are people who I can relate to visually and enjoy seeing what they do. I asked everyone the same questions, but they answer them only in photos. Some are photographers, painters, musicians, or just rad human beings. Hopefully you get a feel for what they think about and what they make."
