Brit ginger Florence Welch has spent the last year belting seismic pleas to “Raise it Up,” wailing like a lovelorn songbird. The steady build for her debut album Lungs has come through mounds of adoring critics, hundreds of interviews, international music awards and yet, she is only now on her first U.S. tour. Florence arrived in Philadelphia on April 5 to an eager-to-worship, mostly teen girl fan base. She’s become a road warrior over the past year, touring Europe and exhausting her voice. But she seems to have learned that enthusiasm is the best remedy for trailing off-key.
